The Catalan Minister of Health, Josep María Argimon, has announced that the extension of the Covid passport is suspended temporarily, at least until Monday. This has been announced after registering delays and problems on the web after suffering a collapse.

This collapse has forced them to postpone their obligation for restaurants and gyms. The La Meva Salut system has collapsed and many users were unable to download the QR code.

The commission delegated to the Govern coronavirus has slowed down the implementation of this measure immediately, at least until Monday

All citizens aged 12 and over who want to eat or drink inside a bar or restaurant, exercise in a gym or visit a family member in a residence should show from this Friday the covid certificate.

The computer problems began to register last Thursday afternoon before the avalanche of visits of citizens who wanted to download their passports after the endorsement of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia.

“We have decided to temporarily suspend the need for a Covid certificate. Next Monday we will look again at the whole situation and we will have all the technological data. We are working and strengthening the tool technologically, “said Argimon.
