Vaccinated visitors welcome from June 7

SPAIN will welcome visitors from around the world from Monday June 7 but they must be fully vaccinated.

Full details of the end of travel restrictions are expected to be announced this weekend but it is likely the government will insist they will have been fully vaccinated 14 days before arrival – and have received both shots of an officially accepted vaccine or one in the case of Janssen.

The partial unlocking of Spanish borders will be significant for travellers from outside of Europe and the United States, including Latin America and Asia.

However, there has been a setback in the recovery of the tourism sector in Spain as the British government has kept all EU destinations on its ‘amber’ list for travel, meaning they must quarantine on return. Portugal was relegated from a green list destination to amber on Thursday.
