Villa rebuilt in Mallorca ahead of 2021 series

LOVE ISLAND is set to return to Spain this year after claims it was to move to the UK because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Management at makers ITV said Mallorca was still ‘home’ to the show despite the programme being cancelled last summer due to coronavirus.

A teasing trailer has been released and ITV commissioner Amanda Stavri all but promised the show would be back in its usual location; the villa already being prepared for its gorgeous single guests.

She told Radio times: “We haven’t announced anything officially, but Mallorca is very much the home of Love Island. I can’t confirm anything 100% at this stage but it will definitely be the love Island the viewers know and love.

“We did look into some back up plans but we were all very much focussed on making it happen in Mallorca – which is where it belongs, quite frankly.”

The ITV2 dating show is scheduled to start on June 28 and host Laura Whitmore, who features in the trailer, will be back at the helm.
