VALENCIA president Ximo Puig reacted to mass street parties across Spain as the country’s state of alarm ended by saying all visitors to the region were expected to obey ongoing rules.

While Valencia has eased its Covid-19 health rules, he said people must not “exceed the conditions” in force until the next review on May 24.

The politician said while the end of the countrywide coronavirus pandemic
emergency declared by central government started a new period of “hope”, he underlined the need for prudence and “maximum responsibility”.

And he had an unequivocal message for travellers arriving in Valencia: “Anyone who comes here has to comply with the rules.”
