Several Russian media have broadcast images showing the body of a man who, according to Russia, has died alongside another civilian after an attack by the Ukrainian army.

For their part, the Armed Forces of Russia have indicated on Monday that they have killed five members of an alleged “sabotage” group from Ukraine and that aimed to cross the border into Russia. Sources in the Southern Military District have indicated that the incident has occurred in the midst of increased fighting in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, where recent bombings and clashes between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces have been recorded.

“Around 6.00, in the Rostov area, on the border with Ukraine, a contingent of the Russian Federal Security Service detected an infiltration by a sabotage and reconnaissance group,” the Southern Military District said in a statement.

In the midst of this tension, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, said today that his country and the European Union (EU) have reached a “principle of agreement” to deploy a “military training advisory mission” in that country but that does not involve sending “fighting forces”. ” We have reached the principle of agreement that the EU will deploy a military training advisory mission to Ukraine. These are not combat forces,” Kuleba said today, after meeting in Brussels with his European counterparts, to discuss the current tension with Russia over its military deployment on the Ukrainian border and clashes in the Donbas.
