Javea-born artist Toni Mari is an internationally-renowned metal sculptor – his workshop is home to Javea’s famous whale, La Ballena de Antonia.

“For me, I like to keep things as natural as possible,” Toni Mari tells BayRadio News in an exclusive video interview (below).

Toni’s iconic rust-coloured sculptures form the entrance and backdrop to so many Costa Blanca destinations – including Denia, Jávea, Teulada-Moraira, Ondara, Els Poblets, Pedreguer and beyond.

His most well-known works are no doubt the roundabouts that stand at the entrances to Javea, Moraira and Teulada.

“I always try to make the roundabouts tell you their ‘why?'” Toni tells BayRadio News.

“The marine elements are a resource that help people feel at ease, to feel good. That’s the whole idea.”
